The nation’s largest shared electrophoretic coating line for special-purpose vehicles has been completed and put into operation in Zengdu District, Suizhou City. Chengli Group, a leading enterprise in Suizhou’s special-purpose vehicle industry, invested RMB 130 million to build this advanced production line, with an annual capacity of 150,000 tons—fully meeting the electrophoretic coating demands of local special-purpose vehicle manufacturers. In April 2022, Chengli Automobile Group broke ground on its electrophoretic coating workshop, with a total investment of RMB 130 million. The workshop measures 168 meters in length and 27 meters in width, capable of processing workpieces up to 9 meters long, 3 meters wide, 3 meters high, and weighing up to 5 tons. Its annual capacity reaches 20,000 hangers—the largest tank dimensions, most comprehensive process capabilities, and most advanced technology among all electrophoretic lines currently operating in Suizhou. Electrophoretic coating offers advantages such as rapid application, reduced labor intensity, non-toxicity, and ease of operation. It delivers excellent adhesion, superior rust resistance, and enhanced corrosion resistance compared to conventional paint systems and standard application methods. Rust prevention remains an unavoidable challenge in the special-purpose vehicle industry; the quality of rust protection directly impacts product service life. Prior to the advent of electrophoretic technology, acid pickling and phosphating were widely adopted across the industry—resulting in relatively shorter product lifespans and adverse environmental impacts.
