I. Case Background: Municipal Sanitation Department’s Spring Festival Support Mission in Lanzhou — On the eve of the 2025 Spring Festival, a municipal sanitation department in Lanzhou faced an urgent support mission: to complete road emergency repairs, equipment inspections, and material transportation within its jurisdiction during the Spring Festival holiday and prior to the upcoming flood season. Located in Northwest China’s arid region, Lanzhou has experienced increasingly frequent sandstorm weather in recent years due to desertification, imposing exceptionally high requirements on vehicle dust-proof sealing performance and filtration systems. The department’s existing fleet suffered from aged seals and declining filtration efficiency, rendering it incapable of sustaining high-intensity operations—prompting an urgent need to procure a batch of multi-functional service vehicles. Following a public tender process, Chengli Special Purpose Vehicle Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Chengli”) delivered six Ford Transit V362 service vehicles, with a unit price of approximately RMB 220,000–250,000 (based on publicly available tender information). These vehicles performed outstandingly during the Spring Festival and subsequent flood-season support operations, achieving a 98% operational readiness rate and becoming the ‘backbone’ fleet for the local municipal sanitation department. II. Vehicle Configuration and Adaptability to Desertification Conditions — The delivered Ford Transit V362 service vehicles are built upon the Ford Transit chassis and equipped with a 2.0T diesel engine compliant with China VI emission standards. To address the unique operating conditions in Lanzhou’s desertified environment, Chengli implemented several targeted upgrades: • Dust-Proof Sealing Design: Double-layer sealing strips are applied at door seams, window frames, and cargo compartment joints, combined with high-pressure air-tightness testing, effectively preventing sand and dust ingress. According to customer feedback, indoor PM2.5 concentration remains below 30 μg/m³ even during sandstorms. • Adaptability to Desert Operations: Underbody stone-impact protection plates are installed; all-terrain (AT) tires are fitted; and a reinforced suspension system ensures stable driving on unpaved surfaces such as gravel roads and Gobi deserts. The vehicle achieves a minimum ground clearance of 180 mm, with optimized approach/departure angles of 25°/20°. • Filtration System Maintenance Intervals: To accommodate dusty environments, Chengli shortened maintenance intervals for the air filter, oil filter, and fuel filter to every 2,000 km or monthly (vs. 5,000 km under standard conditions), and recommended customers maintain spare filter elements. Additionally, vehicles are standard-equipped with an external coarse-filter assembly enabling rapid replacement and minimizing downtime. • Multi-Functional Body Conversion: The cargo compartment is internally partitioned into equipment storage, emergency repair, and crew rest zones, featuring 220V power outlets, LED lighting, and storage cabinets—fully meeting emergency response requirements. III. Operational Readiness Rate and Emergency Response Performance — During the Spring Festival period (January 28 – February 12), the six service vehicles completed a total of 210 operational deployments, executing 27 road emergency repairs and transporting 38 tons of materials. The 98% operational readiness rate was derived from internal customer statistics; primary failures included two tire punctures and one clogged cabin air filter—all resolved promptly using on-site spare parts and Chengli’s 24-hour direct-parts-delivery service. In response to sudden sandstorm-induced filter blockages, Chengli’s after-sales team provided remote technical guidance within two hours, enabling field personnel to replace filters and restore vehicle operation. Customer feedback stated: 'The dust-proof sealing and rapid-maintenance capability o
