I. Pain Points of Aging Equipment: 'Paralysis' Crisis Under High Load During Rainy Season
In spring 2025, a municipal sanitation department in Zhuhai (hereinafter referred to as the 'Client') discovered during routine inspections that its three aging sludge transport trucks—some purchased in 2018 and compliant with China V emission standards—frequently broke down during consecutive rainy-season operations: corrosion and leakage of the cargo box floor, hydraulic seal failure due to thermal expansion in humid-heat conditions, and chassis corrosion leading to sharply increased maintenance frequency. According to internal client statistics, during the 2024 rainy season (May–September), these vehicles averaged 3–5 days of downtime per month solely due to seal-related failures, with individual repair costs exceeding RMB 12,000, severely impacting sludge removal efficiency.
Client feedback: 'The old trucks have poor cargo box sealing; when sludge moisture content is high, severe leakage occurs—not only contaminating road surfaces but also triggering complaints from nearby residents. Moreover, during rainy-season operations, high humidity drastically shortens hydraulic system seal life to less than three months, requiring half-a-day downtime for each replacement.'
Based on this, the Client decided to procure a batch of highly reliable, corrosion-resistant sludge tipper trucks, focusing specifically on resolving three critical issues: rust prevention, seal durability, and high-load chassis performance.
II. Requirements Analysis & Tender Process: Precise Matching from Technical Specifications to Budget
In June 2025, the Client launched an open tender with a budget capped at approximately RMB 910,000 (per publicly available tender information), planning to purchase two 24 m³ sludge tipper trucks. Key requirements included: Sinotruk chassis; cargo body material with anti-corrosion coating; hydraulic system seals backed by test reports verifying performance under humid-heat conditions; and compliance with China VI emission standards, ensuring normal registration and annual inspection across Guangdong Province.
The Client explicitly stipulated the following key requirements in its tender documents:
• Chassis: Sinotruk brand; wheelbase ≥ 4,600 mm; engine power ≥ 220 hp; compliant with road traffic restrictions applicable to coastal cities.
• Cargo Body: Effective volume of 24 m³; floor plate thickness ≥ 8 mm; side panels ≥ 6 mm; interior walls coated with anti-rust paint; salt-spray resistance test ≥ 500 hours.
• Sealing System: Hydraulic lifting seals must operate reliably within a temperature range of −20°C to +60°C and relative humidity ≥ 85%, with service life ≥ 12 months.
• Delivery Timeline: Delivery within 20 days after contract signing, including license plate registration, commissioning, and operator training.
Upon learning of the tender, Chengli Special Purpose Vehicle Co., Ltd. assigned Sales Manager Zhang Yue (Tel: ) to lead a technical team in conducting three in-depth consultations with the Client. Considering Zhuhai’s humid-heat climate, the team proposed a customized solution based on the CLW5180GSSD6 model (officially certified under China’s vehicle type approval system).
III. Chengli’s Solution: 'Triple Protection' Against Corrosion, Sealing Failure, and High-Load Stress
After analyzing the root causes of failures in the Client’s aging fleet, Chengli’s engineering team proposed the following targeted improvements:
Pain Point / Requirement | Aging Fleet Performance | Chengli’s Solution | Technical Basis (Referencing CLW5180GSSD6 Type Approval Documentation)
---|---|---|---
Corrosion Protection | Conventional paint; rust spots appeared within 6 months | Interior walls coated with epoxy zinc-rich primer + polyurethane topcoat; exterior walls treated with UV-resistant coating | Complies with GB/T 15957–1995; salt-spray resistance ≥ 500 hours
Seal Durability | Nitrile rubber seals prone to aging under high temp
